IAPS Group is hosting the next West Midlands Regional Meeting of IPAF, the International Powered Access Federation.
This will be the first official visit IAPS Group has welcomed since moving into larger headquarters on the Hortonwood business park in Telford, Shropshire. The three acre site includes a spacious yard, offices, workshops and a spare parts warehouse. In total it is more than double the size of the Group’s previous facility, which was on the same industrial estate.
IPAF’s Regional Meetings are an informal opportunity to meet other members and to discuss the role of IPAF, as well as a chance to hear about the latest safety campaigns. IAPS Group will welcome IPAF members and non-members on the evening of Wednesday, 9th September.
After a welcome from IAPS Group managing director Steve Couling, the meeting will hear an update from Brian Parker of AFI-Uplift on the Spread the Load campaign. Launched in 2009, this is IPAF’s initiative to raise awareness about the benefits of using spreader plates or outrigger pads, for access platforms that have stabilisers.
Charles Grizzle, Business Development Executive at the Outriggerpads division of IAPS Group will follow this with a presentation on the safe use of spreader plates and the importance of choosing the right product for the job. Charles will also demonstrate his new Outriggerpads Calculator and lead a walk-round of machines that will highlight the features and benefits of various Outriggerpads products.
IPAF’s own Rupert Douglas-Jones will present IPAF’s Draft Guidance for Loading and Unloading, Loading & Unloading on the Public Highway and Operating MEWPS on the Public Highway. His colleague Giles Councell concludes proceedings with a general update on IPAF’s current work – and how members can get more involved.
All IPAF members wishing to attend should book in advance. Book your place >>
